Tuesday, June 22nd Miss Kate Margaret turned 2 months old. What a change we have now. Matt and I have been a little crazy with such a fussy, screaming baby on our hands that we were just praying for something to change. WELL I don't think it was Kate's fault. Mommy and daddy already had Kate on Weight Watchers and did not realize it. OOPPS we feel so bad that this baby was screaming all day because she was not getting enough food. We started giving her more food over the weekend and then again on Wednesday and she is so longer a screaming baby but is a happy smiling baby.
We had her two month appointment with Dr. Basey yesterday. Here are her stats:
Weight: 11 lbs. 10 oz. (68%) Height: 22 inches (34%)
I forgot to ask for Head Circumference.
I knew we had a chunky baby on our hands and yes we do. Dr. Basey said that she is a little vertically challenged especially with a dad as tall as Matt, she seems to be taking on her mommy's height. I wonder if it's because her parents were not feeding her enough and so hopefully she will catch up!
She got one oral vaccination and 3 shots in her legs. She did great besides having no idea what was happening but calmed down quickly and was asleep before we got to the car. She is been doing great and has not had a temperature so far at 24 hours later. We have been giving her Tylenol to just keep the pain under control.
*Eats 4 oz at a time, every 2-3 hours during the day
*Will sleep one 5-7 hour stretch at night, then up for a feeding and back down for 2-3 hours, then up again for a feeding and back down for 2-3 hours. So she is doing great during the night
*Sleeping in her bassinet at night
*Taking naps in her big girl crib
*Loves to be swaddled with her arms in, but many times out them out when she wakes up!
*Smiles at people and toys
*Wears Size 1 diapers- but they are getting a little snug
*Clothes are size 3 months or 0-3, newborn clothes are out of the closet
*Loves her Baby Einstein Ocean Floor Mat
*Smiles when Buckner barks
*Enjoys being outside in the evenings when it cools off
*Like taking walks
*Not really a pacifier kid, but will take her WubbaNuba (pacifier attached to a unicorn) a little
*Coos at people and toys
*Tolerates the car seat more
*Like to swing, sit in the bouncer and bumbo for short periods of time
*Is lifting her head more and more while on her tummy
*Has better head control when you are holding her
*Likes the Bjorn
*LOVES and must listen to the Happiest Baby on the Block CD when upset, and going to sleep. I now have it downloaded on my phone so we have it in the car as well- it is a LIFESAVER!!
*Starting to get a little routine down, she eats, stays vertical (reflux) for about 20-30 mins then plays for a while and is ready to be swaddled about 1 hour after she eats. Then naps for anywhere from 30 min-1.5 hours. Sometimes this changes a bit especially if we are not home.
*Naps are touch and go and I never really know how long she will be down
*I love going to get her after she has been sleeping and to see those big eyes and big smile just melts your heart.
*She cries if she is hungry, wet/dirty or ready for bed. SUCH A HUGE difference from the constant crying we were having for so long
*Still on Reflux medicine
*Still only taking breast milk
*Such a joy and blessing in our life!
KATE MARGARET we are so proud to be your parents. We thank God for blessing us with you WE LOVE YOU!

She is so cute! I love that big smile! I remember when Brooks was first born, he wanted to nurse sometimes every hour. They are just growing so much!
